"Evolution and the Social Mind" is an interdisciplinary project seeking to establish points of contact between the study of sociocultural phenomena and the emerging model of human cognition in terms of evolved functionally specialized systems.

Principal investigators:

The project is funded by the Office of Research, University of California at Santa Barbara, under the Research Across Disciplines initiative.

The coordinating Research Assistant is Debra Lieberman at the Center for Evolutionary Psychology, 1010 HSSB, tel. 893-8720, e-mail lieberma@psych.ucsb.edu.

Responsible for developing the web site is Research Assistant Francis Steen, a graduate student in the Department of English and editor of CogWeb: Cognitive Cultural Studies.
